Read 2/16/08 Three years after Tally and her friends destroyed Prettytime forever, the series shifts focus to Japan (or a reasonable facsimile thereof) and the girl Aya Fuse. A total "extra" in the city's reputation economy, Aya decides that it's time for her to get famous. A trek with a group known as the Sly Girls (who illegally surf the mag lev trains at night) uncovers a secret facility deep within a mountain. Soon, Aya has the story that she's sure will catapult her straight into the stratosphere of fame. Westerfeld's still got it. Fun and slangy, with plenty of new permutations of human in a world of social networking to the *extreme*. But quite as driving as the series that proceeded it.
