Breathe My Name

Breathe My Name
Read 2/27/08 There's something about the writing that doesn't quite jibe with what I would identify as a teenage voice. And some details of this identified as post-Katrina Alabama/Tennessee just seem "off" - even if it IS the South. (similar to the "80's didn't hit Canada until the 90's" phenom that mars Canadian imports) That said, the premise of a girl who survived when three of her siblings were killed by her mother is alluring, and the ending is tense and unexpected - but almost *too* unexpected. The suspense of randomly switching between then/now chapters makes this a quick and urgent read, but don't mistake it for a great one.
